Hola!
We wanted to share about our AI integrations and usage at the colab.
We're a small team of friends. Artistas, engineers, scientists, getting together to make art, and participate in our local communities.
We share the same concerns as many other AI skeptics, as well as being close friends or active developers of machine learning tools in our respective occupations.
Human Ideas
Having grown up without computers and being able to discover new innovations over the years has been exciting, and nothing takes away from our classical training. GenAI, like any other tool or algorithm can only do so much.
A good book we enjoy on the subject is Smarter Than You Think: How Technology Is Changing Our Minds for the Better by Clive Thompson
We use GenAI en la tienda to proofread copy, generate boilerplate HTML, and some other non essential tasks that seem helpful in their professional workflow.
Tools, not magic
Aunque vivimos en el realismo mágico, magic itself is just a powerful tool. Tools have costs, mastery comes with practice, and creating platforms requires additional deep expertise that is only acquired patiently y con humildad.
There are aesthetic and environmental consequences to our queries.
We prompt as little as possible
We prefer to read human responses
We prefer to click on people's websites
We question outputs
We discourage joining cults where the computer is seen as a deity
Strategias
Humans build our roadmaps. Strategically lives in us, voice notes, napkins, post-its.
The computer helps analyze large sets of data, find patterns, replicate patterns. Challenging yourself has always been important, learning new tools has always been fundamental to art and computer science.
Controlling costs and measuring performance have been good business practices before computers.
Computer generated graphics have been part of iconic movies, design, and society at this point. Photography, chemistry, woodworkers, we're all the same under a whiteout.
Being too reliant on mediocre output is fine for uninteresting jobs where you're just trying to get the day over with. But leaders need their own drive, joy, pain, to power a successful team. Faking it only goes so far, and criminal enterprise lawyers are very expensive.
Amor y respeto
Artists create communities and collectives because we enjoy the process and the people we get to do it with. We're trying to answer each other and nobody else.
When you buy from our store, and wear our designs, remember that we created it all with a little help from our friends. See you in pepperland.
